Turn PDF tables into editable Excel cells.

Good to know

Choose a PDF and extract its tables. Borders identify rows, columns and merged cells; tables without complete borders are estimated from text alignment. Each table becomes its own worksheet, with other text kept in a notes sheet. Up to 25 MB, 40 selected pages and 100,000 cells. Files stay in your browser.

Compare cells with the original page preview. Click a cell to correct its text. Shift+click or enter a range to merge cells without losing values, unmerge, or split a cell into rows or columns. Add rows and columns, adjust widths, rename worksheets and undo changes before downloading a real .xlsx workbook.

Plain numbers can become numeric Excel cells; leading-zero identifiers, dates, long IDs and formula-like text stay as text. Scans need OCR, which is not included. Missing or irregular borders, unusual spacing, rotated text and incorrect PDF character mappings can require manual correction. Automatic conversion cannot guarantee every cell is exact; check the review grid and downloaded workbook.

Files stay in your browser. Keep your originals and check your download.

How to use PDF to Excel

  1. Open a PDF containing selectable table text. Select the page range and table detection mode, then choose Extract tables.
  2. Compare the detected cells with the page preview. Correct text, merge or split cells, resize columns, or add rows and columns as needed.
  3. Review number handling and download the XLSX workbook. Check worksheet tabs, merged ranges, IDs and totals in your spreadsheet application.

A practical example

For a bordered invoice table, start with automatic detection. Confirm that quantities and amounts are numeric, while an identifier such as 001 keeps its leading zeros. Correct any split headings before downloading.

Common questions

Can it extract tables from scanned PDFs?

This converter reads existing selectable PDF text and does not perform OCR. An image-only table has no cells to extract and is reported for review rather than turned into invented data.

How much can I convert at once?

A conversion accepts up to 40 selected pages and 100,000 cells. Borderless or complex tables may need manual corrections. Always compare the workbook with the source PDF.
