Reduce file size, keep searchable text.

Good to know

This lossless strategy packs PDF objects into compressed object streams and removes unreachable objects. Existing image data and page content are not re-encoded.

Already optimized PDFs may not shrink. A result must save at least 1% and 128 bytes to be offered as compressed. No pages are rasterized.

Files stay in your browser. Keep your originals and check your download.

How to use PDF Compressor

  1. Choose an ordinary, unencrypted PDF of up to 25 MB.
  2. Keep Pack objects + remove unreachable objects, or choose Pack objects only when you want the more conservative strategy.
  3. Select Optimize PDF and read the measured saving. Download an improved result if offered, then check pages and searchable text.

A practical example

An older PDF saved without compressed object streams may shrink with object packing. A scanned PDF made mostly of already compressed JPEG images may show no meaningful reduction; keep its original in that case.

Common questions

Why is there no compressed download?

A result is offered only when it saves at least 1% and 128 bytes. The tool reports when the attempted output is not meaningfully smaller.

Does optimization lower image quality?

This strategy does not recompress embedded images or rasterize text. It packs PDF objects and can remove unreachable ones. Changes can still affect document features or digital signatures, so review the result.
